    Hi, I’m Ceara

In 2022, I started Island Kids Preschool, which finished the year in May 2023. It was truly a special year working with six amazing children and their families. After such a fulfilling experience, I decided to go back to school to pursue my degree.

In 2024, I was accepted into the University of Washington’s Early Childhood program. I‘m a full-time student and a stay-at-home mom to my 3-year-old. I look forward to graduating in March 2025!

I specifically chose this age group because the first five years of a child’s life are the most crucial, as brain connections are forming faster than any other time in life!

Toddlers are little explorers curious about the world around them. They’re so curious that they’ll reach for anything before you even have a chance to say “no”!

At PopUp art, we embrace that natural curiosity! This is a space where they can explore new textures, experiment with colors, and discover the joy of making art, all while developing essential motor skills :)

    Hi I’m Becky,

I am the owner of Brambleberry Preschool at the Chimacum Grange where I care for and work with 2-4 year olds.

Before Brambleberry I taught as the art teacher at Corlears School, a nursery-5th Grade school in New York City.

Art with children has always been my jam. When we make time to set up creative materials in a playful way and invite kids to explore we not only facilitate creativity but also language, self esteem and socialization.

Furthermore when we work along side them it shows that we (their parents, caregivers, grandparents and teachers) value play too!

This drive to play, explore and experiment is just one of the things that makes the early years with kids so awesome!

I truly believe the process is more important than the product and giving them a chance to chose how they engage is key to developing a love of learning and an openness to new things. It is through play that we learn, grow and connect!

When Ceara approached me with the idea of us working together on an art and sensory based pop up for children and their grown ups I was SO excited and I can’t wait for the magic to unfold!
